Welcome to our Backyard Quail Farm in Southeast Alaska.

Our fine quail are lovingly reared by our family here in Alaska’s Little Norway. We are happy to nourish our community and increase local food security.

Visit our Backyard Blog to learn more about our practices and discover how you can grow your own adorable quail for eggs and meat!

This is how it all started…

When I was a little girl living in Illinois, I dreamed of having a place of my own to raise animals and let my kids run wild. By and by, I began homeschooling my kids and we sought to create a wholesome and educational lifestyle. When my family moved to Petersburg in 2022 we fell in love with the warm and welcoming town. After we settled in to our new home, I set up a coop and started with a handful of chickens. Our flock has since grown to include Jumbo Quail.

Living in the maritime rain-forest of Southeast Alaska comes with a a unique set of advantages and challenges. In my Backyard Blog I aim to share with you the tips and hints I have gained from my supportive community and my own personal experiences.

Thanks for visiting my spanking new website. Please pardon the dust while I get my ideas out, and check back for tons of new blog posts geared toward life in the Southeast!
